Daksum, that breathe life back into you slowly, gently.
Tucked between Anantnag and Sinthan Top, Daksum isn’t flashy. It doesn’t try to impress. It just wraps you in tall deodar trees, lets a cold stream sing beside you, and gives you space to exhale.
The drive there was beautiful, but it was when I stepped out and heard nothing but birdsong and the rush of the Bringi River that I truly felt the difference. It’s wild, green, and peaceful in a way most places have forgotten how to be.
Locals pass by with baskets of firewood or grazing sheep, always with a nod or a soft “salaam.” I sat for hours by the river, just listening. No phone, no schedule—just me, the trees, and the sound of water flowing over smooth stones.
Daksum isn’t about doing. It’s about being. And that’s its quiet magic.
If your soul’s been asking for a break, this little forested corner of Kashmir might just be the answer.
